Top Summer Vacation Tips Whether you are traveling by plane, train or car, summer vacation is the perfect opportunity to escape to a favorite spot or experience new sights and adventures. More importantly, there is a time to be together and enjoy the company of others. However, if your trip is not planned correctly, you will spend your holiday stress! So no matter if you pack the children in the back of the van or traveling solo to exotic destinations, here are some tips to make this trip your vacation even better summer:
Pack Right
Easier said than done right? The packaging is a delicate balance to what you really need without taking too much. How can you do? Planning ahead and having a very good list. Bring anything you absolutely must have, wear coordinated clothing, you can mix and match and make sure you have a list prepared in advance so do not forget anything. Do not put too much of anything, you can not wear six pairs of shoes I promise you, and do not put anything that can be purchased along the way if you really need.
Have lots of sunscreen, hats and sunglasses
The sun is higher in summer and UV radiation are increasing. There is nothing worse than sunburn on the first day of summer vacation and spend the rest of the discomfort. Sun protection is more important today than ever before.
Be flexible
Allow some flexibility in your plans. Give yourself enough time for flight delays and congestion. Even if you do not have the opportunity to do something as planned, enjoyable rest stops or detours can be used to explore and can end up being more memorable than the planned stops.
Bring a camera
It seems obvious that I know, but you'd be surprised how many people forget to put the camera and extra batteries or memory card (in the old days it was the film) etc. Prepare your camera gear in advance so you have ready to go, you do not want to miss the sunset or a first meeting with your child with the dolphin.
Keep Children Amused
If you are traveling with children, at least you like to listen to "Are we there yet?" Over and over, make sure they have enough to stay amused. Ask them to make their own travel bags with things that 'they like to keep themselves occupied while traveling by plane or car. You can also find inexpensive travel games in stores, or you can play your own such as "I Spy" or set of plate registration.
Be prepared for rain or cold weather
There is nothing worse than packing t-shirts and shorts must be hit with a wave of cold and spend your summer vacation trying to stay dry and warm. Even if you are traveling in a hot desert, be prepared with rain gear base and a warm jacket and vice versa.
Be prepared for an emergency
If traveling by car keep an emergency kit handy that includes jumper cables, hand tools, flares or reflective warning triangles, a first aid kit, a flashlight with fresh batteries, and a cell phone if possible.
What not to do on your summer vacation
There are some things you should not do to have summer vacation. First, try to avoid traveling during peak hours, this means a long weekend of summer, unless you're a sucker for punishment. This also means that the peak hours in the city if you are driving, try to schedule your time around these hours.
Do not break the bank. A recent survey by Expedia, 57 percent of travelers blow their budgets on holiday food and drinks. Ways around this include staying at inclusive resorts and booking rooms with a kitchenette. Before visiting a particular city, check out what activities are free to do. Especially for children, there may be many parks, museums or simply intedraat.
