Glass Feeding Bottles

Glass Feeding BottlesThe harmful effects of plastic bottles for our babies

As consumers, we are convinced that all the products that we bought in any store are safe and secure. If you check the bottles in shopping malls and department stores, you'll see a wide variation of it with different brands. Have you ever thought about what and how these bottles are made? Or substances or chemicals are used to make plastic baby bottles? When we heat the plastic bottles for sterilization or put a little hot milk, have you ever thought about what happens to the substances in it?

Most manufacturers of plastic baby bottles bisphenol use to complete these things. Recent studies show that each time you apply heat to the plastic bottles, from three to seven parts per billion of bisphenol A leaching into baby formula. Although long-term effects of plastics in our baby's health has not been established yet, but you risk any side effects long term for your child just for the reason of convenience and accessibility? As parents, what should we do to prevent this from happening?

Apparently, we should try to stop using these plastic bottles and start using glass bottles again. The BPA has been linked to several health problems like cancer, miscarriages, the effects of sex hormones, and early puberty. At the moment there is no scientific evidence on how bisphenol affects the health and development of babies, but scientific and health professionals are already working on it.

One of my friends would always run to embrace her father when she was still a child, whenever his father came home from work at the asbestos factory. That was way back in 1940. It would not occur to her that a simple kiss to her father would lead to a severe respiratory problem called mesothelioma, which her to live with for the rest of his life. Studies show that there is a strong link between asbestos and mesothelioma. I think that if his father knew of this adverse effect, it would not expose her daughter to asbestos dust found on his clothes.

Now, as parents, we do not know if we expose our babies to the harmful effects of bisphenol mainly because we have no idea of its long-term effects. "But will you really take the risk to your child? Your decision will make a great impact on the health of your child several years from now. So, make decisions wisely.

I agree that the traditional glass bottles may be a few drawbacks, but there are now plastic bottles that are free of bisphenol A and are sold in health stores. However, as they are carefully and specifically designed for the safety of babies, we can expect that these items can really be expensive.

In conclusion, it is still ours to make the decision for our children. With all the problems of harm to the environment in the air such as certain chemicals we have to face every day, we certainly do not want to think of bisphenol in the formula for our baby. This only adds to the voltage, we treat every day. So now I leave you with this thought to ponder. Whatever you decide, make sure you make an intelligent decision.
