Doppler Monitor

Doppler MonitorHas anyone ever rented a Doppler fetal heart rate monitor?

I am 18 weeks and we rented a fetal heart monitor Doppler Belly Beats on the Internet. We could hear the heart beat the first 2 nights, but for the last 2, we could not find it. I do not know how reliable are these doppler, so I do not know if I should worry or anything. What do you think? Let me know your experience.

The couple I knew who bought one of these wished to God they did not, for the same reason you mention above. There are times that you did not hear the beating of the heart, and when they could not, they panic. So what happened, they have become almost obsessed by it. And had to check the heart rate throughout the day.

But I'm not saying not to use or enjoy. It is a wonderful thing to discover! Just keep in the back of your mind that you will not always hear the beating heart with early pregnancy and that's okay! Congratulations.

KK I'm so so sorry. My thoughts are with you. Report Abuse

I rented one of storkradio.com when I was pregnant. If it is a Doppler REAL, just like they use in physicians' offices, it should work. The baby is still quite low and moves a lot now (even if you can not feel it yet). I want to try searching for all heartbeat in your stomach, not just in the same place you found the last time, if you can not find the heart beat call your doctor.
