Breast To Bottle Feed first baby: breast or bottle? Breast or bottle? Newborns do not need much food in the first three or four days of life. Breastfed babies get trace amounts of colostrum creamy. Some bottle-fed babies are given sugar water first to the hospital, others are given formula from day one. Anyway, this is the part of the water in these beverages that have the greatest need. They will probably not much, anyway. Food is something babies to learn. Because they take some food to begin breast-fed babies in particular, generally lose weight for four or five days before starting to win. It is quite normal for a baby to lose 225g (8 oz) during the first five days, then back over the next five. the weight of a baby 10 days should be roughly the same as at birth. When a newborn baby is thirsty or hungry, he feels uncomfortable when he cries. But at this early stage, it does not cry for food. He does not know that the discomfort he feels is the hunger that the suction will bring him food or foods that will make him feel better. In fact, a basic equation of childhood he needs to discover is: "is equal to the suction food equals comfort. Some babies are so willing to suck that essential learning takes place quickly and easily. They might have been practicing sucking their fingers in the belly (we know that some babies do) and once they are born they just suck something their way. Of course, when such a child is offered the breast or bottle, it also aspires. Ball gives him the colostrum or milk, and makes them feel good. After two or three rehearsals, the lesson is learned food. Other infants are very different. They cry piteously from hunger-pain, but when their mothers try to put a nipple or pacifier in their mouths, they howl around her even a taste of colostrum or formula does not stop crying because the link between taste and comfort has not yet been taken. It will be done, though. However much of a fight your attempts to diet may be, you can be sure that your baby is born with a set of reflexes suck and if you mention these reflexes (rather than trying to plug her? Shouting mouth with your nipple or a nipple), it will suck. And once he has sucked a few times and found the food, the comfort it brings him everything will be fine. Posted on January 29, 2010.
