Birdseye Fabric

Birdseye FabricHow do I keep getting rid of fabric without adding bulk?

I'm washable nursing pads for my sister old flannel sheets with an inner layer of a quilted ecru weaving material. I tried to finish the edges with satin stitch on my sewing machine, but they did make kind of "waves" - I can not lie flat, so they are clearly visible under shirt. I also tried to finish with a lap and topstitching, which has been difficult and cumbersome on the edges, so they showed through his shirt too. I tried with my overlock sewing machine using the overlock stitch or zig-zag on something else, and I found that the edges are frayed and shabby pretty quickly. Do you have other suggestions for how I could finish them in a manner which is sustainable and does not show through his shirt?

I would try to reduce tension on the wire to see if it has less of an effect of tissue collection.

I have seen Overlock adjustments that will allow you to finish the edges with no distortion at all.

It is a product on the market called "Frey
Check the box ". It is a liquid that you apply to the edge
fabric to prevent fraying. There are other products that will hold through the wash.
You will find them in a section of a fabric store.

crazy glue. Or, go to a hobby shop and ask for Hot Stuff. It's almost the same as the crazy glue, but it is in different polymerization time, distributors and quantities. Once the glue sets, cut the edges of Nice and neat.

Try it, you'll like!

there is a tape in the store or Walmart and sewing everything you need to do is put it between the fabric and steam iron for years and not in bulk
