Hello, I am 34 weeks pregnant and I'm smaller measuring 34 weeks, then I should be. My measurements did not change in 4 weeks and I had an appointment midwife today and my measurements are a cm smaller than the last time! The baby is engaging what could be a reason, but my midwife is still interested and I'm going for a scan in the morning. We talked about some possiblities of what it might be, some harmless fluid (low amniotic fluid, baby curled up and small) and some a little scary (the placenta is not functioning properly and the baby not receive enough blood!) If it is the worst case I will have to be induced early (hopefully they can make me at 37 weeks with regular monitoring and lead time). Im just a little nervous and I want to know if anyone else has experienced this and how things work in?. This is my second baby and it is much smaller, and my first baby came on her due date of a healthy weight 7pound8. I think that's what I think the scary, the fact that my second child and should therefore be greater. I gained more weight this pregnancy and last and I do not work this time they have been more relaxing, why my baby will be smaller ???!!!. That scares me and makes me think there might be something wrong. This baby is also much quieter then my first pregnancy. I get enough movement to not be concerned about the movement, but they are very mild compared to my first pregnancy I had this happen when I was about 28 weeks. my daughter has just changed its position. I bet she has become familiar during the past 6 weeks. I'm sorry to hear that there is a problem. If you get induced I hope all is well! try to relax this last piece. :) Report Abuse Posted on February 20, 2010.
