Can you explain the inconsistency in the conservative ideals? As standard, the Conservative Party believes that the federal government is not suited to make strategic decisions such as programs funded by the state, and local government is a body more capable of protecting the interests of its citizens.
Alternately, the party supports capitalism, where the market should be free to make decisions affecting the interests of profit and growth ... which in turn provide more employment opportunities and lower cost of goods.
I find these ideals incompatible with what the theory suggests that "big government" is incapable of catering to the needs of the population, but "big business" is able to agree on their needs in the pursuit of growth.
Recently, the federal government has managed to regulate one of the most troubled industries: health care. In response to market failure to provide the average worker with sufficient coverage, or pay enough to buy care and the market's inability to offer its products at prices affordable to the average consumer. Therefore: the health care market has grown huge profits while the cost of care has increased and the amount of coverage has sunk.
Now that this nation has seen the devastating effects of deregulation or "free" market, and taxpayers have been prepared to pay the bill for the boring business ... it still seems crazy that what follows is still very conservative advocating economic system victims, while protesting against the attempt of the Directorate General of federal government with the score for the majority of Americans who have been exploited by system.
I do not understand how "big government" is deemed unfit to make laws for the good of its citizens, but "Big Business" is entrusted to practice in the public interest. The role of government is to guarantee the freedoms of its citizens, but the pattern of trade is profit all means necessary. While large companies did not live up to its responsibility to the consumer and the worker, is it possible that federal policy such as public health care might actually be the solution to our country and liberate the working class of his attackers?
Please do not confuse Republicans and conservatives. They are poles apart.
Name one "big government" program which has never respected the budget. Government destroys everything it touches. Liberal / Statists ignore the fact that government programs are not effective, and instead of helping the cause of freedom, they merely suppress it.
How government programs can serve the cause of freedom, where the basic principle of all of them is to confiscate property from one person to give it to someone else. You can not extend the freedom to harm someone else.
Yeah, sure.
The Conservatives believe in smaller government and less intrusive - but also believe that government should be directly involved in the definition of what marriage means, who can get abortions, and when the ban and further unnecessary marajuana.
The Conservatives say they are opposed to Govt expenditure control, but had no problem with the $ 3 trillion has been wasted in Iraq and the 800 military bases we continue to have overseas, which serve no Another attempt to protect their business interests overseas (the U.S. taxpayers of the middle class are expected to infinite funds).
The Conservatives say they are in favor of strict adherence to the Constitution, but at the same time, doing everything they can to erode the separation of church and state, and had no problem with the Bush admin listening e U.S. American telephone conversations without a warrant.
The Conservatives have no problem with all this - that just makes me think they really stand Nothi.
